ATTENTION ALL AHANY Youth and AHANY YOUTH Wannabes
WE WANT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For 2010, I am ramping up our AHANY youth group. The youth calendar fundraiser has been a HUGE success, with only a handful of calendar still needing a home. Now for the fun part… putting the profits back into our youth and Arabian horse community!!!
Come be a part of the fun! 2010 is still taking shape and I need input from current and new youth members. Our February meeting will count as the first youth meeting for 2010 and we will be discussing ideas for clinics, fundraisers and fun!!! In addition to reminding our college age ‘Youth’ to submit applications for the long-standing AHANY SCHOLARSHIP Program, available to one AHANY member each year who has completed at least one semester of college and who is enrolled for the next, I would also like to introduce our new YOUTH SPONSORSHIP Program for 2010. This award will be presented to ONE deserving youth member at the 2011 AHANY Highscore Banquet. It is my hope that this will become a long-standing program to help encourage, enable and promote participation with the Arabian horse.
The 2010, $750.00 YOUTH SPONSORSHIP AWARD will be based on:
Club event participation & Fundraising
An essay, submitted prior to October 1st, 2010
Individual need and intended use
*Candidate selection will be made by the AHANY Board of Directors and will be entirely at their discretion. The program award status and amount will be determined on a yearly basis as Youth funds and participation allow. The success of the program in 2010, will help to determine its future success and viability!!!
High Score Awards:
-The Top 5 youth participants will receive special recognition at the year-end High Score Banquet held in January, 2011. For more on points and criteria for the Youth Sponsorship Award Program, please see the attached sheets. We welcome our youth new and old and hope to see some renewed interest and enthusiasm for the year to come. I am pleased to be coordinating our youth and can be reached by phone or e-mail.
Thanks & Welcome!
