AHANY High Score Nominating Form     AHANY High Score Show Results Report

General Rules

1. To be eligible, a horse must be registered in either the Arabian Horse Registry, or the AHA. The owner or lessee of the horse must be a member in good standing of The Arabian Horse Association of New York, Inc.

2 A member of AHANY, must be the owner or Lessee of the horse at the time of nomination and during the period points are accumulated. Upon sale of the horse or transfer of the lease, all accumulation of points cease and any awards earned are awarded to the person who nominated the horse.

3. Points must be earned in AHA or CHSA recognized Purebred or Half Arabian classes with the exception of the Open and Unrated Arabian Show categories. { See Open and Unrated category rules}. The US Nationals in October will be the last pointed show for the High Score Program.

4. Horses may be nominated for the High Score Awards at any time during the calendar year. However, no points will count at shows that were earned previous to the paid nomination.

5. Nominating fees shall be $12.00 per catagory for the first class and $10.00 for each additional class PER HORSE. Overall high point awards do not have a nomination fee. Entries are automatically entered in the appropriate overall class with out charge.

6.Show Results must be sent to the High Score Chair person within 21 days from the last day of the show on an Official High Score Result Form. They are available at meetings and will be found on AHANY’s new web site.

7.For a horse to win a category, the horse must score points in their respective category.

8. Points will only be accumulated in classes that correspond to the category entered. For Example: amateur points do not count under open categories and open points do not count under amateur categores. Junior Horse points may only be accumulated from Junior Horse Classes.

9. Plaques and ribbons are permanent awards. Silver Trophies are perpetual awards and must be returned to the High Score Committee by Sept 1, of the following year. It will be engraved with the previous years winners name

10. Any disputes must be submitted in writing and referred to The Board of Directors. The Board will appoint a committee {not including any one involved} approved by the members. All decisions are final.

OPEN/ UNRATED DIVISION RULES

1. Open and Unrated Division points do not count toward Overall High Score Awards.

2. Points for Open competition may be earned from any class {halter, performance, games etc.} that are open to all breeds. Classes may be earned form any USEF or CHSA show offering open classes, or any open show which is not USEF approved.

3. Points for the Unrated Arabian Division may be earned from any class held during a show which is not approved by USEF or CHSA and is limited to the showing of PB or Half Arabians.

4. Open Competions and Unrated Arabian Shows are open to Adult riders. Junior Riders may only enter the Junior Division Open and Unrated categories.

AMATEUR OWNER DIVISION

1. To be eligible, an amateur Owner must be a member of AHANY in good standing, over 18 years of age {with the exception of the Halter division } and hold an Amateur card.

2. Any horse ridden in the amateur division must be owned by the exhibitor or their
immediate family.

3. Points must be earned by winning a ribbon in a Rated show in the entered class.

HIGH SCORE ADULT AMATEUR OWNER

JUNIOR EXHIBITOR DIVISION

1 .To be eligible, a junior Exhibitor must be less than 18 years of age in accordance withUSEF rule 1 Article 115

2. Points must be earned by winning a ribbon in the nominated class.

3. Points are to be accumulated on the JUNIOR EXHIBITOR. The Junior Exhibitor is nominated for each class they want to participate in. They may ride more than one horse per nominated class, at no extra charge.. Example: Susie Smith is nominated for Junior Exhibitor Hunter Pl. She has 2 hunter horses. She may accumulate points on both horses and only pays the nomination fee on herself.

4. Junior Exhibitors may nominate their horse in any Purebred or H/A class, but points shall only count for the horse and not on the Junior Exhibitor. JUNIOR EXHIBITOR DIVISION points must be accumulated in JUNIOR EXHIBITOR classes.

5. Junior Division Unrated show points may be earned from any class [Halter, pleasure, games, etc }held during a non rated show, that is limited to Arab or H/A horses. Juniors may ride in any class, but may only enter the Junior Division Unrated shows.

6 .Open Competition points may be earned in any class open to all breeds, including open, 4-H or
Rated all Breed shows. Equitation classes open to all breeds will be counted in the open Competition, not in the Regular A Rated Division.
